My days of being bullied are long behind me but some things you do not
forget. I was a spoiled, friendly, talkative short attention span type
when my parent placed me in a boarding school in a foreign country when I
was in 8th grade. I spoke only English and my peers did not. I spent
the next for years being bullied and chased up and down hallways. I
mainly remember being terrified and making cheat calendars marking off
the days to I could get home. I survived and now teach and watch others
being bullied. What should teachers do? It is a dangerous trap. If we
interfere it only separates the victim more. Any suggestions? How did
others cope?
